We’re currently leading a large-scale Core Banking Transformation Program and are seeking a Migration Lead to drive and oversee the entire data migration workstream. As the Migration Lead, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the data migration strategy, execution, and governance for the Core Banking transformation initiative. This is a critical leadership role requiring both technical depth and program oversight. You will manage a team of engineers and analysts, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure a smooth and accurate transition of legacy data into the new banking core platform.
What You Will Do
- Define and own the end-to-end data migration strategy, methodology, and plan for the Core Banking Transformation Program.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of migration engineers and data analysts.
- Drive data discovery, profiling, and gap analysis to inform transformation logic and data cleansing activities.
- Oversee the design and development of robust ETL frameworks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes.
- Work closely with solution architects, business analysts, and banking domain experts to ensure alignment with functional requirements and compliance standards.
- Establish data governance standards in the context of the migration effort, including GDPR/data protection compliance.
- Develop and maintain detailed migration roadmaps, timelines, and status reporting to stakeholders.
- Ensure robust data validation, auditability, and user acceptance testing across all migration phases.
- Own the risk and issue management process related to data migration activities.
- Coordinate data cutover activities and ensure successful go-live support and post-migration audits.
- Communicate clearly with senior leadership and business sponsors regarding status, risks, and deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, or data architecture, with at least 2 years in a lead or managerial role.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end data migration projects, preferably in core banking, fintech, or enterprise-scale transformation initiatives.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and modern ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend).
- Deep understanding of data modeling, data quality assurance, and reconciliation techniques.
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of banking data structures, core systems, and regulatory requirements (GDPR, PCI DSS).
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
